KNYSNA NEWS - The Spring Business League at the Knysna Bowling Club culminated in a prize-giving held on 16 November, and the fact that each and every team received a prize was testament to the sheer competitiveness and thorough enjoyment that have become synonymous with the sport.
While many teams were just rolling along from end to end, others displayed jack-in-the-box traits that would ultimately become a strategy that is yet to result in a win.
For five weeks straight, the usually harmonious greens became a hub of activity, pleasant banter and wholehearted fun. All greens were occupied, bowls rolled from multiple directions (not always intentional) and screams of joy were heard streets away.
Impressions that the game is reserved for the senior and elderly were quickly dismissed, as it was a season ago, as Knysnarians from all walks of life and different spheres of business all came together with a common purpose – to network, have fun and enjoy a drink or two.

Twenty-four teams entered the league and the likes of this very paper Knysna-Plett Herald started off really strong by winning overwhelmingly in the first game – but perhaps too strong as from that point onwards they struggled to secure another win although they pretended really hard as if they did.
Participating teams included the Sanparks Seahorses, Sanlam Private Wealth, Cataract Cats, Butterflies, Skams and of course, Dick's Boba Boba Boys.
In the end, only two winners could be crowned. Section A went to Kings with 59 points (12 points ahead of the team in second) and in section B the winners were Buco Rollers with 53 points.
