KNYSNA NEWS - Bowls... it's not just a game for old fogies anymore, and with the Knysna Bowling Club's (KBC) Action Floodlit Mini League coming up in August, residents and businesses in Knysna can experience this for themselves.
KBC recently installed a floodlight on their bowling greens and this means the intricate and exciting game of bowls will be played at night. From Friday 10 August and the following two Fridays, 17 and 24 August, teams of three will be battling it out from 17:00 in the evening.
According to KBC spokesperson Paul Hare, the three-member team format will make for a much more exciting experience as opposed to the four-member team format played earlier this year during their Action Bowls Summer Tournament. "And with that a lot of fun to be had and prizes to be won," he adds.
Entry for the league will cost a mere R300 which includes the three games over the three Fridays, and a snack platter on the final evening. The games will be made up of 10 ends each, and there will be prizes for each evening's winners, as well as for the first three teams in the finals.
Hare says that games not playable on any particular Friday will be played the following Tuesday.
