KNYSNA | PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Smuts United retained their spot at the top of the KLFA Domestic League after last weekend's round of games, while FC United rose to the top of the Safa Eden Men's Regional League.
The latest round of fixtures in both of the leagues was played on Saturday and Sunday, 5 and 6 February.
Only two of the four Knysna/Plett teams taking part in the Regional League had fixtures this weekend, with Oriented Birds and Red Eagles enjoying breaks with a bye.
FC United and CX Celtics on the other hand were tasked with facing off against United Brothers and Simunye, with the latter contending with FC United as well as Peacemakers for top spot on the log.

FC United played against United Brothers first, and managed to earn three points with a 3-0 win. CX Celtics were no match for Simunye and the latter came out on top with a 3-1 win.
With the fixtures reversed in the afternoon, FC United could not hold off Simunye either, suffering the same scoreline they had inflicted earlier the day when they lost 3-0. CX Celtics were able to turn around their fortunes and beat United Brothers 2-0.

Despite losing their second game, FC United clung to top spot with Simunye two points behind in second. Peacemakers are in third place on 35 points with a game in hand, while Red Eagles round out the top four. Oriented Birds are next in fifth place and CX Celtics in eighth.
In the KLFA Domestic League table-toppers, Smuts United had a slightly nervy weekend with a game against second-placed Pine Stars scheduled for Sunday. Played on home turf in Smutsville, they managed to fend off the men from Rheenendal with a 4-2 scoreline to stay top of the pops.
The biggest win of the day and the weekend belonged to Crossroads, who beat Two for Joy 7-3. The highest-scoring encounter of the weekend came on Saturday when Richmond City and Young Stars faced off, the latter emerging victorious with a 6-5 score.
The weekend's results ensure that Smuts Untied are still top with 34 points, with a game in hand on second-placed Pine Stars, who have amassed 30 points. In third place are Young Stars - also with a game in hand - on 28 points, while La Liga finishes off the league's top four.
