FOOTBALL NEWS - Sea Birds Football Club won the Mossel Bay Local Football Association (MOLFA) Local Top 24 End of Season Tournament, held from 24 to 26 June.
The Sea Birds won a second tournament that same week: they were crowned champions of the 2021/22 Domestic League Season.
More than 24 teams took part in the Top 24 competition.
Throughout the various group and knockout stages, Sea Birds FC won all their matches and only conceded one goal.
"This was a demonstration of consistency and discipline; the aspiration and dedication of the club's players is extraordinary," a spokesperson for the club said.
"Winning this tournament makes Sea Birds local treble winners as they first won the pre-season tournament, the domestic league and now the end of season tournament. This is a first in the history of Mossel Bay football."
Among the individual awards for the tournament, the club's captain, Inga Dana, received the outstanding player of the tournament award and Anathi Tafeni, the top goal scorer award.
The club is preparing for the regional play-offs which are to take place very soon.
This is yet another boost in confidence for the players and will surely give them even more conviction to reach their goals.
