Jordaan to remain president – Safa

NATIONAL NEWS - The South African Football Association (Safa) has confirmed that Danny Jordaan will stay on as president despite his appointment as the new mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality.

This comes after the ANC today appointed Jordaan as part of the party reshuffling ahead of next year’s local government elections.

“Dr Jordaan will not relinquish his position as Safa president. Let’s remember that Dr Jordaan is not a fully employed staff member of Safa, so he is entitled to take up a new full-time job somewhere else. So he is going to remain the president and also do his mayoral duties,” Safa spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi told Phakaaathi.
