KNYSNA NEWS - Members of the Kaizer Chiefs supporters club's Knysna branch organised a soup kitchen in Nekkies to support those in need for Mandela Day this year.
The supporters set up a soup kitchen at the Khayalethu Clinic and Knysna Community Day Clinic on Monday 18 July.
"We wanted to do something that would benefit our community members," said Thembelihle Konto, secretary of the branch.
"We started serving the soup at [the clinics] and we went to town donating to the homeless kids and to those people who are looking for a job. We believe that we are community members before we are supporters. We care about our community members and we are willing to make a change where we can."
The group also handed out soup and food parcels in town.
