KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Cavaliers secured a 54-run victory over the Plett Pioneers in a thrilling match the past weekend. 

Batting first, the Cavaliers posted 199 all out, with JP Ellis (48) and Stefan May (40) leading the charge. Danrick Moodien’s superb bowling (5/19) guided the Cavaliers to victory.

In reply, the Plett Pioneers were bowled out for 145, despite solid contributions from Kevin Brouers (44) and Jacques Ahrense (41). Knysna’s bowlers dominated, with Charl-Francois Marias (3/49) and Ellis (3/41) ensuring a convincing win.

Pacaltsdorp United vs Union Stars

Pacaltsdorp United (173/6) this past Saturday surpassed Union Stars I (169 all out) on the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier league log with a 4-wicket bonus-point victory at the Bridgton Sports Grounds.

Stars I were dismissed for a modest 169, whereafter the visitors, thanks to a match-winning 5th wicket partnership of 103 runs (124 balls; 1x6 and 10x4) between the experienced Le-Roi Bredenkamp 65* and Pieter Stuurman (49), reached the target in the 37th over.
