GARDEN ROUTE NEWS – Club cricket in the South Western Districts (SWD) is all set to return this weekend, with the commencement of the SWD Cricket T20 competition across the region.
The competition will see the welcome return of club cricket to the region, after 18 months of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
While there were hopes and plans in place to resume cricket last year, this did not materialise due to challenges brought about by the panademic.
All club cricket sides in SWD will be in action at least once this weekend, with some playing two games. Three of the four Knysna/Plett sides will be in action this weekend, with the Knysna Cavaliers facing off against Pirates United on Saturday morning, and later against Plett Pioneers on Saturday afternoon.
