CRICKET NEWS - The rise of the Beaufort West Cricket Club these last two seasons continued Sunday when they claimed the SWD Reserve League Division 1 title.
Beaufort West, who re-entered a team in the SWD League competition two seasons ago, has now won both the division 2 and 1 titles in two consecutive seasons. They will be promoted to the promotion league next season.
They posted a modest 138 (all out), after which they dismissed the Harlequins Forces C (from Oudtshoorn) for only 87 to record a convincing 51-run victory.
