KNYSNA NEWS - For one last time in 2021, the coaching staff of the Knysna Sports Academy (KSA) joined hands with schools under the Knysna Initiative for Learning and Teaching (Kilt) for two days of cricketing fun. .
KSA and Kilt have been working closely together throughout 2021 to bring together children from schools around the greater Knysna area for various days of sporting fun.
The children truly needed these days, as their physical activities have been severely limited during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The days served as a way for the children to unwind, but also to acquire and hone new skills on the sporting field. One of the biggest and most productive vessels Kilt and KSA have used throughout the year has been cricket.
Many schools in greater Knysna don't offer cricket as a sporting code and therefore rely on KSA to develop their star cricketers.

This is why the cricket days put together by Kilt and KSA are very important. The sporting days are open to learners from any of the Kilt schools, boys and girls alike, and each learner receives lunch provided by the two organisations.
The year's cricket days culminated in a final weekend of cricket on Friday and Saturday, 3 and 4 December, with 10 competing at Sport at Backward Point near Totties Farm Kitchen.
As always, the days were a huge hit. Sunridge Primary School was the most successful, winning both their matches while Rheenendal Primary, Concordia Primary, Hornlee Primary and Sedgefield Primêre Skool won one game each.
