“It is alleged that the driver of a white Ford Focus with Gauteng registration number was travelling on a high speed when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and accidentally hit the two boys who were standing at a nearby corner,” police spokesperson Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane said.
The driver then hit an electric pole, stopped and fled on foot.
Eyewitnesses called the police and emergency services.
“The boys were certified dead at the scene,” Mokhuone said.
Police have opened a case of culpable homicide and launched a manhunt for the driver.
