Springs detective involved in murder case

NATIONAL NEWS - A Springs police detective and two informers will appear in the Carltonville Magistrate’s Court today on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The detective and a colleague, as well as three informers are alleged to have tortured a man to death, and shot and killed two others, in Carltonville on April 17.

The second detective and the third informer are yet to be arrested.
Both detectives, who hold the rank of constable, serve at the Springs Police Detective Services.

The men were arrested on Tuesday after a thorough investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) and the SAPS.
