Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Water delivery operations continue this morning, with trucks strategically deployed across Knysna to service designated reservoir zones.
These tankers are operating according to the co-ordinated schedule developed by the joint operations centre (JOC) to ensure equitable and efficient water distribution across all affected communities.
A joint statement by Knysna Municipality, Garden Route District Municipality and the Western Cape Government this morning provided more details.
Tanker operations by zone
- Zone 1: Knysna Heights, Paradise
- Zone 2: Upper and Lower Old Place, Lower Industrial, Hunters Home, Rexford
- Zone 3: Fisher Haven
- Zone 4: Leisure Isle
- Zone 5: White Location, Flenters, Rhobololo, Qolweni, Greenfields, Joodse Kamp
- Zone 6: Concordia East and West, Dinangwe, Endlovini, Victor Molosi area
- Zone 7: Khayalethu, Bongani
- Zone 8: Dam se Bos North (7de Laan), Dam se Bos, Hlalani, Oupad, Nekkies East, Nekkies West (Kaalkol)
- Zone 9: Ward 11 of Hornlee
Status of repairs
In Rheenendal, one of the two reservoirs is currently at 40% capacity, while the second remains empty.
The current level is sufficient to sustain the area for about half a day, assuming low pressure is maintained.
Efforts to increase reservoir capacity are ongoing and will continue throughout the day.
