KNYSNA NEWS - Has an individual made your day? Has a business delivered a shining service? They deserve a thumbs up in the Knysna-Plett Herald.
Has an individual or business ruined your day? Let us know with a thumbs down.
Send your thumbs up and thumbs down (with your full name and contact details) to elaine@groupeditors.co.za or hand-deliver it at 19 Spring Street in Knysna, by Friday before the next edition.
THUMBS UP
• To Sedgefield Towing & Recovery for your excellent service on Wednesday, August 9. Also to JF Mouton Motors in George – your repairs and service, it is the best, you know what you are doing. And to Silverton Radiators Knysna for your correct diagnosis.
• To Knysna Rotary. They have been helping the people who lost their homes in the fires with vouchers, blankets, jerseys and so much more. They do all of these things with such love and support, thank you very much.
• To Ivan and his team of the parks department at the municipality. We reported a high accident risk at the corner of Queen and High streets where the plants and shrubs on the pavement obstructed the vision of drivers travelling in all directions. They cleared it the very next day after we had reported it to them.
• Many thanks to the very helpful Marvin and Maxwell of Knysna fire department who came to the rescue when my vehicle threatened to go up in smoke in the middle of afternoon rush-hour traffic. Much appreciated!
• To the cleaner at our post office boxes, for cleaning so nicely.
• To the wonderful young lady who stopped to change my flat tyre on George Rex Drive. You are a credit to your father. From a very grateful granny.
THUMBS DOWN
• To a battery centre in Knysna whose extremely rude owner spits venom unprovoked, and whose after-sales service leaves much to be desired. You have a very bad reputation in this area as I don't even have to mention your name and people know exactly who I'm talking about.
• A big thumbs down to an auto diagnosis service for not assisting a damsel in distress during the Knysna fires.
In a local paper dated August 9 it was stated that Plett's desalination plant was working at full capacity while Knysna's does not wok at all? Plett can afford the expense of running their plant but Knysna cannot?
• To the Hunters Home biker boys. You may think it is cool to blast away with no baffles on your motorbike exhausts with no thought or care for others in the area. Best you contain yourselves before your arrogant and uncaring noise pollution catches up with you. There are laws and bylaws!
