KNYSNA NEWS - The launch day for the Knysna Initiative for Learning and Teaching's inaugural Digital Tech Drive was "a great success", says KILT.
Held on 28 February at the Knysna Mall, to collect unused but working devices, including cellphones, laptops, tablets and earphones from members of the public, for use in schools, the day saw "some lovely items donated".
'Promising pledges made'
KILT added that "a lot of information was shared about who we are and what our mission is, and some extremely promising pledges were made".
"Pauli Coetsee Botha, the owner of Ile de Pain, on Thesen Island, has generously offered to keep a donations bin at her establishment for this month and depending on the results, perhaps beyond.
"We will be back at the Knysna Mall on Friday 28 March from 09:00-16:00, spreading the KILT word, doing exciting demos of Lego robotics and helping the public strengthen their cyber safety."
The public is once again encouraged to join KILT "in making a difference - donate your your old devices and help power the future of learning".
