Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Despite massive opposition, the 29-year-old Plettenberg Bay man arrested last month in connection with the alleged rape of a teenage girl was released on bail in the local magistrate's court on Friday 6 March.
Police said the suspect was arrested in Ladismith, about 250km from Plett, on Thursday 13 February.
It is alleged the man raped the young girl during the Festive season when she visited him and his wife.
The bail application was postponed several times and concluded in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court last week when he was released on R2 000 bail.
This, despite opposition from, among others, the organisation SA Women Fight Back, who submitted a petition with more than 4 000 signatures in a campaign to see bail denied.
