PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A 42-year-old Plettenberg Bay man is scheduled to appear in court again on 4 March for allegedly dealing in drugs after police discovered drugs worth more than R110 000 in his home in Pinetrees.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies said Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention unit members received information on Sunday 20 February that a consignment of drugs was being delivered to a home in Pinetrees near New Horizons in Plettenberg Bay.
Police responded swiftly and pounced on the house.
“Upon entering they found 195g of tik on a table in one of the rooms. They proceeded with a thorough search of the premises when they found 831 Mandrax tablets concealed in one-litre branded milk containers (cartons) hidden in other parts of the residence. The police confiscated the drugs and arrested the occupant of the house,” Spies said.
The accused, Ramadhani Yusuphu Mrisho, appeared in court on Tuesday 22 February. The case was postponed to 4 March for bail information.
He remains in custody.
Western Cape police management applauded the efforts of these units as they continue to rid local communities of drugs.
