PLETTENBERG BAY NEWSFLASH - A R2000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of two suspects who violently attacked a farmer in Plettenberg Bay during the early hours of Sunday morning, 22 October.
The suspects were tracked by authorities to KwaNokuthula where they disappeared.
According to Otto Olivier, operations head of the Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA), authorities received a distress call at about 03:00 from a farmer on Avontuur Road.
“He reported that he was attacked by two suspects with machetes who broke into his house. He sustained several wounds in his attempt to defend himself and his property,” Olivier said.
He added the suspects fled the scene with various stolen goods.
Olivier said various PBCPA members responded and conducted a thorough search for the area.
“During the search it was found that the suspects also broke into the neighbouring farm where various tools were stolen. During the search for the suspects some of the stolen goods were recovered.”
Olivier said with the assistance of police dog unit officer Waldo Gerber and his dog, the suspects’ trail was tracked through the bushes and over the N2 to Kwanokuthula.
