PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Plett Arts Festival is well underway and celebrating all the finer things in life, from art and music to fashion and food.
After stricter lockdown regulations enforced a postponement in July, the festival finally kicked off on 1 October and is set to dazzle lovers of the arts until 10 October.
This year, Plettenberg Bay is celebrating the arts with 10 days dedicated to live and pop-up performances, workshops, exhibitions, film, and many more art-related events during the 8th annual Plett Arts Festival.
The festival kicked off with a colour splash at Barrington's where Plettenberg Bay yarn artist Naomi Louise Franklin showcased her collection of wearable art.
Franklin became an overnight fashion celebrity as a result of her creative collaboration with acclaimed South African designer David Tlale.

On 1 October, festinos had the opportunity to interact with Franklin and immerse themselves in her upcycled wearable artworks, also gaining personal insight into the artist's creative journey.
Her collection, dubbed Nvulu, will be on show at Barrington's throughout the festival and one piece will be silently auctioned off. The proceeds of the auction will go to local animal organisation Muddy Pooches.
Besides Franklin's work, several other exhibitions and workshops will be on show at Barrington's during the festival. Well-known South African painter Marius Prinsloo is "resident" at the venue and is painting there daily. Prinsloo specialises in landscapes and seascapes and his paintings are a unique blend of impressionism and realism in bold and vibrant colours.
