"We at Pennypinchers, Knysna, decided to assist the community where needed as a token of our appreciation towards valuable clients who have been supporting us," said Donovan Pasmore, salesman at Pennypinchers."
He further said, "We are planning to refurbish a total of five non-profitable crèches in various disadvantaged communities."
Humpty Dumpty Crèche and Pre-Primary School in Rheenendal is one of the fortunate crèches to have undergone a facelift, on Saturday, August 20.
"We first started with this project in Rheenendal, and we are proud to say that it was a success," explained Pasmore.
The other four crèches to undergo renovations include Llingalom Africa (Khayalethu), Judas Square, Wonderland (Concordia), and Issiseko (Dam-se-Bos).
Other organisations and suppliers to Pennypinchers also lent a hand.
"We approached some of our suppliers and they kindly donated some paint and toilet pots," said Pasmore.
He further said that about 11 volunteers from Pennypinchers as well as a number of Rheenendal residents assisted with the renovation of Humpty Dumpty School.
Pennypinchers would like to thank all the suppliers who donated towards this worthy cause. These good-hearted suppliers are TI Paint, Plascon, Powafix, Dutton Plastics, Duram and Colortone.
