KNYSNA NEWS - There were roaring engines and big grins all around as members of the MG Car Club South Cape with their classic sports cars paraded past the Lukhanyiso Safe House's school premises on Tuesday 10 October.
The parade made the children's day. Many of the children have a keen interest in classic cars and they were elated.
They were in for another surprise too - the MG Car Club donated two tablets in benefit of Lukhanyiso's homeschooling programme.
The Lukhanyiso Safe House previously operated from Concordia, but after a recent break-in they moved to a more central and secure location.
The tablets means a great deal as one of the students is doing matric and internet access is essential.
The Lukhanyiso Safe House is supported by Ella Mapurisa and Penny Mainwaring of Emzini Tours who have shown a great passion for the well-being of children in the community.
The generous donation of the two tablets from the MG Car Club came from a wish list passed on to them by the Rotary Anns and this led the club to offer to help out with Lukhanyiso's needs.
"We are very fortunate that we have the great fun of helping and to be able to pass this donation on to Lukhanyiso, they are so deserving," says Jill Morse, chairperson of the MG Car Club Southern Cape.
