PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Attendees of the Plett Choral Culture Festival at KwaNokuthula Primary School this past weekend were happily blown away by the all the acts on the bill – but it was especially the choral collective from Murray High School that made a mark by keeping the audience captivated with every note and projecting its enthusiasm from the stage.
The festival, a first of its kind and a joint effort by the choir's conductor Anelisiwe Mnyaka, Plett Tourism and One Art Projects, is all about celebrating music through heritage.
The saying "dynamites come in small packages" couldn't be truer than in the case of the dedicated Murray High School choir, who managed to take their audience on a journey of emotions on its own, and also the SA Traditional Music Awards nominees Abantwana, who are the gem of the town.
The choir even managed to reduce the normally cheerful MC Siphosethu Yekeni – a jovial presence throughout the show – to tears with a touching rendition of Brenda Fassie's Memeza.

The audience was also treated to a traditional dance performance.
In the spirit of keeping all things traditional, a range of delectable African cuisine was available as was a stand of handmade, vintage, one-of-a-kind African accessories.
