KNYSNA NEWS - A drug consignment worth R20 000, destined to be sold in Knysna, was confiscated when a shoemaker was arrested on Tuesday27 April.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, police received a tip-off about illegal activities at a shoemaker’s shop in Nelson Street.
“Vigilant members of the Knysna Crime Prevention Unit operationalised the information when they descended on the shop. A search of the premises ensued and a black bag with five parcels of dagga wrapped in brown Sellotape was found hidden on the premises,” said Spies.
The dagga was confiscated and the suspect (47) was arrested on suspicion of dealing in drugs.
He will appear in court once charged.
Eden Cluster Commander, Major-General Oswald Reddy, praised the members for the arrest and subsequent confiscations. He also thanked the public for the information that assisted the police in removing these drugs off the streets.
