PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Police in Plettenberg Bay arrested a man and a woman in Kwanokuthula yesterday, Sunday 26 November, after they were found to be in possession of an illegal firearm as well as tik and Mandrax.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the arrests occurred at about 10:45. "Members deployed at Kwanokuthula acted on information of illegal activity at a house at Sishuba Street," he said.
"On arrival at the premises the vigilant members proceeded with a search of a shack behind the main house. They found eight rounds of ammunition, a firearm as well as small quantities of tik and Mandrax in the two occupants’ possession."
The man (33) and woman (21) were both arrested on charges relating to the unlawful possession of the firearm, ammunition and drugs. The duo will appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court once charged.
