KNYSNA NEWS - The saying that Rome was not built in a day is true of a group of ladies who serve the children of Knysna by knitting to keep them warm.
It started with just two ladies a few years ago, but now under the leadership of Charlotte Cameron, the group has grown to 13 faithful knitters.
This year they will provide some 200 jerseys to pre-primary children who are part of the e'Pap family of schools.
Shelly Godsell of e'Pap extends a huge thank you to these faithful women who "know how to love their neighbour in a very practical way".
"We also thank Kayo Wool Wholesalers from Krugersdorp for giving us a discount on all of our wool purchases. The e'Pap Children's Feeding Project serves over 5 500 children of the Garden Route," says Godsell.
e'Pap was developed in 2001 by Basil Kransdorf, a South African industrial chemist who became a social entrepreneur. It is a pre-cooked porridge that is a blend of maize, soya, sorghum, vitamins and minerals in a highly absorbable form.
It plays a major part in the nutritional well-being of the children who have it.
