KNYSNA NEWS - As a tourism body, Knysna Tourism, previously known as Knysna & Partners, provides destination management and marketing services for the benefit of the entire local economy.
Knysna Tourism Chairperson Elmay Bouwer says that virtually every business in the greater Knysna area benefits directly or indirectly from tourism.
“Tourism is one of the key economic drivers of the Knysna economy on which so many businesses and residents of this town are dependent, from the garage owner and forecourt attendants, guest houses and B&Bs, hotels, restaurants and golf courses, to retail businesses, architects, décor shops, medical and legal practitioners, and activity suppliers.
"When tourism is thriving, there is a positive spinoff and benefit to everyone."
She added: "The more members we have, the more we can promote Knysna as a premium holiday destination to South Africa and to our key international source markets.
"The more tourism grows, the stronger the economy will become and with it the benefits to all who reside in Knysna."
Membership fees are just R750 per annum, which is R62.50 per month. Knysna Tourism and its satellite office Sedgefield Tourism are hosting an Open Day on Friday 27 October from 11:00 to 15:00 for anyone who would like to meet the team and learn more about membership benefits.
