Update
KNYSNA NEWSFLASH - A former chairperson of the Knysna Round Table, who is a well-known resident of the town for the past 20 years, appeared in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court last week on charges relating to the death of a Cape Town student during the 2015 Oyster Festival.
At least four witnesses took the stand, including eyewitnesses, a police photographer and also a pathologist.
The student was reportedly killed when getting into an argument with the Knysna resident, who allegedly drove over the deceased with a Colt bakkie.
The accused was arrested shortly thereafter but the case was thrown out of court at the time.
Following deliberations by the NPA over the course of more than two years, the case finally went to court on Monday 5 February.
