KNYSNA NEWS - A total of 67 colourful, handmade blankets -each woven with compassion -were donated to the Community Police Forum (CPF) by the Knysna Lions Club on Wednesday 16 July, as part of their 67 Minutes for Nelson Mandela Day initiative.
The blankets, knitted and crocheted by dedicated women, bring not just warmth, but also stories of resilience and hope.
Many of the volunteers who crafted these blankets are themselves facing life's challenges, yet they chose to give their time and skills to comfort others. "Being part of this initiative gives these women peace, joy, and cherished moments," said a club spokesperson.
"You have no idea what difference you have made. These blankets offer comfort to victims," said Beth Beggs of Knysna Victim Support, highlighting the meaningful impact of the donation.
Cheryl Britz, chairperson of the Knysna CPF, expressed heartfelt appreciation: "The Knysna CPF is truly grateful for the kind donation of beautifully handmade blankets, sent with such love and care.
This valued partnership enables our SAPS victim support officers and volunteers to 'pay it forward' - providing victims of various situations with warmth, comfort, and a sense of security during times of crisis."
