KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Animal Welfare Society (Kaws) played an instrumental role in assisting animals during the devastating 2017 and 2018 fire events.
Mandela Day presented the ideal opportunity to show our appreciation to Kaws for their unflinching willingness to assist during these times of need.
Representatives from Sanparks teamed up with Kaws to embark on a "dip day" in Hornlee on 18 July, when more than 200 animals were vaccinated, dewormed and treated for ticks and fleas, and most importantly, details of animals needing to be sterilised were collected.

This event exposed the dire need for basic animal care and outreach in the community – a shared responsibility not possible without team work between organisations and members of the public.
