KNYSNA NEWS – For the second consecutive year, Knysna Provincial Hospital has scored a perfect 10, with 10 babies born on Christmas and New Year's days.
The number bears significance as it is also the third time in the past four years that a total of 10 babies are born on these two days.
Things started a bit slowly on Christmas Day, with the first of four boys born at 11:50 to Vuyokazi Lotyani. Thereafter Misha Daniels, Shyleen Chikambe and Charmaine Maxim all gave birth to baby boys – Maxim was the last on the day, born at 23:25.
The 2022 group of Christmas babies was one less than in 2021, and included no girls. In 2021, four girls and one boy were born on Christmas.
On New Year's Day a total of six babies were born at Knysna Provincial Hospital – three boys and three girls. Samantha Kopke was the first mother to give birth, her daughter being born at 10:35.
Through the day Marenda Alinafe, Rochelle Prins, Brenda Mabane, Ncebiswa Mabali and Stephanie Wabane all gave birth to their bundles of joy. Wabane was the last to give birth, at 19:20.
