KNYSNA NEWS - A meaningful community event aimed at honouring women, supporting victims of gender-based violence (GBV), and empowering young leaders was held in Hornlee and surrounds recently.
It was a collaborative effort led by the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Gift of the Givers, and the SAPS District Office, hosted by local NGO Changes of Knysna.
A group of women from Concordia also received gift packs as part of Gift of the Givers' community and school outreach programme.
The founder of Changes of Knysna, Charmaine Sinclaire, played a key role in organising and facilitating the gathering.
Sinclaire expressed gratitude to the CPF for the opportunity to lead such a purposeful initiative.
The event coincided with Gift of the Givers' Community and school outreach programme.
"We are truly thankful to the CPF for entrusting us with this event. It was an honour to create a space where women, survivors and future leaders could feel seen, heard, and empowered," said Sinclaire.
Chairperson of the Knysna CPF Cheryl Britz extended heartfelt thanks to all role players. "The collaboration enabled us to pay it forward, not only to recognise our women of worth and victims of GBV, but also our future school leaders, who will all in turn be empowered to continue to reach out and extend a hand of kindness."
