The mayor said that she firmly believed that it was the parents' responsibility to prepare their children to take their place as responsible citizens in society and the Community. She also believed that assistance, where possible, from the local authority should also be given, as she felt that society as a whole is responsible for the end product of a child's upbringing.
She said, "Luckily our Grant in Aid places the municipality in the position to enable you to make the transformation from 'being good' to 'doing good'. Hand in hand we can work together to create a town that works for all," she said.
