PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The plea trial of a local caregiver is expected to take place in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court on Friday 19 June.
The caregiver is charged with theft and is alleged to have stolen more than R90 000 from her employer, an elderly man living with dementia.
According to the court documents, the accused had allegedly misappropriated the funds belonging to the complainant while employed as his caregiver. The caregiver was reportedly arrested on 20 January this year.
She was later released on R20 000 bail.
The case has since been postponed on previous occasions to allow for the finalisation of a potential plea agreement. The accused has also changed legal representatives during the course of the proceedings.
