KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna`s own ‘galloping granny’, 91-year-old Christine van Noppen, completed her 50th Knysna parkrun this weekend.
On Saturday, October 28, van Noppen was accompanied by Pierre de Wet - who also completed 50 runs - and Leslie Procter who completed her 100th run.
“Christine has been participating in the Knysna parkrun since March last year and is a great inspiration to all of us younger folk.
"She is there most Saturdays and always turns up with a smile on her face, her hat on her head, and her walking stick in her hand,” says Kenny Wilkinson, organiser of the parkrun.
The Knysna parkrun is a 5km run/walk which is held every Saturday morning at 08:00, starting in George Rex drive.
It is free to all entrants.
Christine van Noppen has 50 parkruns under her belt while Leslie Procter has done the parkrun 100 times.
Pierre de Wet and Leslie Procter both competed their 50th parkruns this past Saturday, October 28.
