KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING / ASSAULT - NELSON ST (Thurs 3 May @ 16h30) – Shop owner flagged down Allsound Officer to report that a suspect stole from the shop and assaulted staff when they tried to stop him. Allsound Officer apprehended the suspect in Long Street. Case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - LONG ST (Thurs 3 May @ 20h17) – Resident requested assistance after hearing suspect on the roof. Officers responded and apprehended well-known suspect trapped in the courtyard. No case was opened and suspect was released.
COMMON ROBBERY - WATERFRONT DR (Sun 6 May @ 00h11) - Pedestrian stopped Allsound Officer to report that he was mugged by 2 assailants and his backpack and cellphone were stolen. Allsound Officer later found a suspect in possession of backpack matching description. SAPS were notified and one suspect was arrested. Cellphone was later also recovered.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - MAIN RD (Sun 6 May @ 10h07) - Client phoned to report that guests' vehicle was broken into. A handbag, wallet and blanket were missing. No force marks were evident. SAPS were notified.
THEFT - NELSON ST (Wed 9 May @ 19h12) - Allsound Guard radioed for assistance after spotting 2 unknown men pushing a trolley full of fence poles. The 2 men fled when confronted. Items are believed to be stolen.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS/ PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN
BURGLARY - MEYER ST (Sat 5 May @ 19h37) - Resident stopped our Response Officer to report that 2 suspects just stolen bicycles out his garage. The bikes were dropped when suspects fled.
BURGLARY - MC CLELLAND CIRCLE (Mon 7 May @ 04h38) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed garage was broken into. Owner reported a pair of kids tekkies and a sander were missing. Case was opened.
WELBEDACHT / EASTFORD DOWNS
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - WELBEDACHT (Sat 5 May @ 11h15) - Resident reported intruder on property trying to break-in. Suspect fled into bushes but was apprehended by Allsound Officer. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
BURGLARY - MILKWOOD DR (Wed 9 May @ 07h18) - Client telephoned to report a break-in at the neighbour's property. Power tools were reported missing from the garage.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - DAVIDSON ST (Thurs 3 May @ 00h21) – Officer responded to alarm signal and found back window forced open. Keyholder was notified and reported nothing visibly missing.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON
BURGLARY - TULBACH ST (Sat 5 May @ 09h22) - Client reported a break-in at his home sometime during the night. He reported jewellery stolen. Case was opened with SAPS.
