KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
ATTEMPTED THEFT OUT M.V. - RAWSON STR (Thurs 10 May @ 03h41) – Resident reported intruder in complex. Security gate was forced open and suspect found hiding between vehicles. A screwdriver was recovered. Suspect was handed over to SAPS after he damaged Allsound Vehicle.
THEFT - VOORTREKKER STR (Tues 15 May @ 16h32) – Client reported that a large portion of fencing was stolen during the night. CCTV footage showed 2 suspects pushing a trolley with the fencing the previous night at 21h22. Case was opened.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS/ PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN
BURGLARY - GREENHILL LANE (Fri 11 May @ 06h32) - Client telephoned to report that they just had a break-in. Suspect entered via unlocked door and stole a laptop. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - GREENHILL LANE (Mon 14 May @ 09h47) - Client telephoned reporting a break-in at their guest house. Suspects removed glass pane and burnt through burglar bars. A TV, 2 plate stove and a bag were reported missing. Time of break-in unknown. Case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARRICUM
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - BLARRICUM AREA (Fri 11 May @ 07h07) - Client phoned to report that 2 suspect tried to break-in but fled when the owner disturbed them. No access was gained and nothing was stolen.
BURGLARY - WINDHEUWEL (Fri 11 May @ 21h05) - Property owner reported that their home was broken into some during the day. Tools, Go Pro, clothing etc stolen. Resident opened a case with SAPS.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT - GEORGE REX DR (Fri 11 May @ 17h52) – Client phoned in to report theft of purse from Guest Cottage. Guest reported time frame of up to 3 weeks. SAPS were notified,case was opened for investigation. Staff member was charged with theft the following day.
BURGLARY - KAPTEIN STR (Mon 14 May @ 18h29) - ADT requested response to a positive break-in. Keyholder was unable to confirm if anything was missing. SAPS were notified.
BURGLARY - VIGILANCE DR (Tues 15 May @ 00h36) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed that a window was broken and burglar bars were bent. Owner was informed and confirmed nothing visibly missing from property. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - GLADSTONE STR (Tues 15 May @ 03h05) - Officer responded to alarm signal and reported back door forced open. Keyholder was notified and confirmed that alcohol was missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - BARRACUDA STR (Tues 15 May @ 01h16) - Client activated the panic and reported that there were 2 suspects trying to break-in at neighbours garage. Officers responded, lock was forced open but no access gained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - MARLIN DR (Tues 15 May @ 09h53) - Resident reported an attempted break-in during the night. Window with bars was pulled open within reach of laptop. Intruder fled when dog started barking. Nothing reported missing.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON
BURGLARY - STINKHOUT STR (Sun 13 May @ 11h21) - Allsound Officer called for backup after 4 suspects fled from a property in a white Toyota vehicle. Property owner confirmed a positive break-in. Suspect go away with jewellery. Camera footage was reviewed and vehicle details passed on to SAPS for further investigation.
BURGLARY - AGAPANTHUS STR (Mon 14 May @ 10h46) - Keyholder notified our Control Room of a break-in at the property. Small window at scullery was broken but no access to rest of house. Nothing obvious was missing. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - STEENBRAS STR (Wed 16 May @ 10h02) - Client reported break-in at neighbours' property. Entry was gained through the roof and then ceiling broken. Safe was forced off wall but nothing missing from the house. Time frame unknown. Case was opened.
