KNYSNA NEWS – The Kiri Kiri competition prize-giving took place on Wednesday, 5 July, at Featherbed Cruise Café.
The Kiki Kiri project, led by Amanda Reitenbagh, was held in partnership with the Knysna Arts Society. The "kiri" is a stick traditionally used by the San people for walking and hunting, holding historical and cultural significance.
Participants used their creativity to embellish a kiri on the Featherbed Nature Reserve walking trail.
The winners were Louise Jäger, Pava Conradie, Hazel Franzie, Anina Ledeki, and Patricia Pieterse.
The Knysna Art Society expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project, with high-quality work and high-quality entries.
The society also thanked Helena Gerber, Tanya Lategan, Lance and Ines, and Nita Terblanche. Sponsorships were provided by Featherbed and Hester Oosthuizen of Just for Nails.
The participants of the Kiri Kiri Project lined up with their embellished walking sticks along the Featherbed pier.
