KNYSNA NEWS - An autopsy on the body of a cyclist - identified in the media as that of Johannesburg ophthalmologist Louis Kruger (68) - found on Sunday 19 January on the Old Cape gravel road near Simola, Knysna, was conducted on Tuesday 21 January.
This was revealed by Sergeant Chris Spies, police spokesman in the Southern Cape, on Wednesday 22 January.
Spies added that "the circumstances surrounding the incident are not known as (police) members were dispatched after a call was received, and found the cyclist deceased".
'Foul play not suspected'
The body had been discovered at about 10:30.
"The outcome (of the autopsy) will be shared with the next-of-kin," he said.
Spies said "no foul play is suspected", and police had opened an inquest docket.
