KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna detective branch is investigating a case of murder following the death of a 22-year-old Nekkies resident, the second murder in the area in less than a month.
Knysna police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said the body of Sinoxolo Ntatumba was found with multiple stab wounds on Sunday, August 13 by a member of the public at about 07:55.
He said the investigation had already led to the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect who appeared in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 17.
“The suspect was released on R2 000 bail, and the matter was postponed until September 28 for further investigation as it is still at an early stage,” said Spies.
* The first murder, in Nekkies, was that of Malawian national Edward Mkhondomtsinde, whose lifeless body was found on the side of the Uniondale Road, near Sanlam Mall on July 31. A 32-year-old suspect, Gavin Tsholwana, remains in custody until his next court appearance on September 7.
