PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The 67-year-old man who was found murdered on a smallholding in Harkerville on the N2 between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna has been identified as Rodney Renwick.
His body was found on Hault Hill Farm along the N2, about 10km from town, by security personnel at about 15:45 on Wednesday 10 September, and they summoned the police to the scene.
His hands were tied up and he had suffered multiple injuries to his body and head.
The security personnel had been looking for him after his Mercedes-Benz was abandoned by two people in Sedgefield earlier that same day.
Renwick was a well-known character in Plettenberg Bay, and was involved in the solar energy field. He was always seen riding around in his Mercedes-Benz with his dog, Rocky.
Preliminary investigations led the police to arrest two suspects, a man and woman aged 28 and 34.
The Plettenberg Bay Police have opened a murder docket and the suspects are facing charges of murder and theft of a motor vehicle.
They were scheduled to appear in court on Monday 22 September to apply for bail, which the police opposed. They remain in custody.
A private remembrance service for Renwick was held in Plettenberg Bay last week, confirmed Donovan Tait, a friend.
