KNYSNA AND PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Large parts of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna were affected by power outages overnight following bad weather and high winds.
Bitou Municipality’s electrical ream is currently attending to an unexpected fault affecting the power supply to large areas of Plettenberg Bay.
Affected areas include New Horizon, the Plett town area, KwaNokuthula, Qolweni, Bossiesgif, Pine Trees and surrounding neighbourhoods.
The power interruptions in parts of Knysna affected Hornlee, Knysna Heights, Welbedacht, Green Pastures and surrounding areas.
The Knysna Municipality said it was aware of the power interruption currently affecting the areas due to the bad weather. “Our technical team will be attending to the repairs. An update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available,” said a notice.
A notice issued by Bitou Municipality said at this stage, the cause of the outage and estimated repair time have not yet been confirmed.
High winds affected Plettenberg Bay at about 05:00 this morning, 22 September.
The Bitou notice said updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available from the team on-site.
