PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou Council has unanimously resolved to continue with disciplinary proceedings against suspended Municipal Manager Mbulelo Memani and head of Governance and Compliance Allen Paulse.
This follows a special in-committee council meeting on Friday 12 September to consider a forensic investigation report on Memani, who was placed on precautionary suspension by Bitou Council during an in-committee sitting on 12 August.
Premature
Mayor Jessica Kamkam said she was not in a position to disclose the charges.
"It would be premature at this stage to discuss or disclose details relating to the allegations, as doing so could jeopardise the fairness and integrity of the process," she said. "Council has, however, resolved to proceed with disciplinary proceedings in line with due process and legislative requirements."
Kamkam said the individuals concerned will be formally notified through the prescribed channels, ensuring that their rights to a fair process are fully protected.
