PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Famsa Knysna, with one of our aims to promote "raising kids positively", will facilitate a workshop on parenting in Plettenberg Bay next week.
We are privileged to have Carol Surya present this course for us. She is a child psychologist and an accredited Journey practitioner and has used it extensively with children.
She is the designer of a self-esteem board game, InnerMagic, as well as the author of Great Kids! Strengthening Their Natural Potential.
Your parenting style has a massive influence on your child's behaviour, self-image and future self.
Parenting styles come from important beliefs and values, from your parents, society and your culture.
So, to parent differently, you may first have to think differently.
This is where thinking about and relating to them with respect comes in.
As soon as you treat your child with respect, the child feels important and wants to cooperate.
Benefits of this training include:
- Hands-on engaging training – to help understand kids better and practise concepts.
- Valuable new tools and confidence in helping/working with your children.
- Practical ways to get children to cooperate.
- How to discipline better – positive discipline recipes that work.
This is a really great opportunity to be trained with important tools to equip you as a parent to help your children prepare for adulthood.
