PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A great white shark was spotted at Central Beach in Plettenberg Bay today, Thursday 23 October, at about 14:30.
Melissa Nel, head of Plett Sharkspotters, said that the sighting was made from a Sharkspotters vantage point on the top of the Beacon Isle Hotel.
She said no one was in the water at the time and the beach was closed. She said it will be reopened at about 17:00.
Nel said a number of bronze whaler sharks had also been spotted in the bay in the past two or three days.
“The sharks are around, “ said Nel. She urged bathers to be vigilant.
