KNYSNA NEWS - According to police, a 43-year old woman died after she was hit by a truck on the N2 at Nekkies at about 14:20 yesterday afternoon, Sunday 7 August.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the woman had already died when police arrived at the scene.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was crossing the highway when she was hit by a delivery truck," he said.
"She sustained serious injuries and was later declared dead by medical personnel on the scene. A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will be conducted later this week.
"The vehicle, a Volvo truck, was en route to Gqeberha from Cape Town at the time of the accident."
Knysna police have opened a case of culpable homicide and the investigation continues.
