PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Two people succumbed in a fire that destroyed more than 10 informal homes in Qolweni in Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday morning.
After a municipal inspection it was revealed that more than 10 structures were completely gutted while several others sustained major damage when a fire spread through the area.
Municipal firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and the municipality did a site inspection to asses the damage to possibly provide assistance.
Several residents lost all their possessions.
Police are also doing a forensic investigation.
Although the cause of the fire is not yet known, there is speculation that the fire was deliberately started.
