KNYSNA NEWS - While registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine in the Western Cape continue to increase, one of Knysna's long-standing vaccine sites closed last week.
The Knysna Town Hall was one of the first vaccine sites to open to the public in Knysna when the vaccine roll-out started in 2021.
However, Western Cape Department of Health spokesperson Nadia Ferreira confirmed last week that the site would be closed. Vaccination continues at clinics in and around Knysna.
As at Monday 6 June, the Western Cape has seen 3 018 076 registrations for the vaccine, 53,77% of the eligible population. In the Garden Route a total of 262 882 people have registered for the vaccine, 53,10% of the eligible population.
In Knysna there has been a total of 37 071 vaccine registrations, which is 64,57% of the eligible population. Bitou has seen a total of 22 831 vaccine registrations, 53,73% of the eligible population.
