KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - After a day of voting across the country in the local government elections (LGE), the vaccination drive resumes in Knysna and Bitou, albeit in a slightly subdued fashion with the shorter four-day workweek.
As part of the LGE there were 1 000 temporary vaccination sites set up at voting stations around the country, but only two were set up in Knysna (Percy Mdala High School) and Bitou (Plettenberg Bay Primary School).
However, it is now time to return to the normal schedule at the permanent vaccination sites.
The Western Cape has seen a total of 2 445 514 vaccination registrations, with the 12- to 17-year-old age group reaching 42 260 registrations yesterday, Monday 1 November. This is 43,57% of the eligible population.
The Garden Route meanwhile has seen 218 865 registrations, 44,21% of the eligible population, with 2 420 registrations in the youngest age group (12 to 17).
Knysna has 31 320 total vaccinations, 54,56% of the eligible population. There are 398 registrations in the 12- to 17-year-old age group. Bitou is closer to 20 000 registrations, and as at Monday the sub-district stands on 18 626 registrations, which is 43,83% of the eligible population. Here, 156 people are registered in the 12- to 17-year-old age group.

- Knysna Community Day Centre (CDC) – Tuesday 2 November to Friday 5 November
- Knysna Town Hall – Tuesday 2 November to Friday 5 November
- Sedgefield Clinic – Tuesday 2 November, Thursday 4 November, and Friday 5 November
Bitou
- Kwanokuthula CDC – Wednesday 3 November and Friday 5 November
- Kranshoek Clinic – Thursday 4 November
- Plettenberg Bay Town Clinic – Tuesday 2 November, Wednesday 3 November and Friday 5 November
- Crags Clinic – Tuesday 2 November (today)
