KNYSNA NEWS - A local shopping centre brightened the days of a few children prior to the Easter long weekend, donating hot cross buns and Easter eggs to two child care institutions in Knysna.
Last month, Woodmill Lane Shopping Centre organised a drive to donate stationery and school supplies to Grade R learners at three different schools in Knysna.
This time the centre management opted to take an even sweeter approach to its donations for the Easter weekend.
"We decided to get involved with a more hands-on approach to incorporate our Helping Hands initiative," says Centre Manager Madele van Niekerk.
She once again enlisted the help of Knysna Councillor Georlene Wolmarans to assist in identifying an institution in need.
"Councillor Wolmarans identified the Dorothy Broster Child and Youth Care Centre in Khayalethu, as well as Ella’s Safe House in Concordia. Fortunately, we were able to help both institutions."

On Thursday 1 April, Van Niekerk presented all the children at the child centre and safe house with hot cross buns and Easter eggs, brightening their days ahead of the long weekend.
