While Thabang Morutlo and Fiona McFarlen of the Drydock Food Co. took the runner-up title of the race this year, the enthusiastic Drydock 007 Team had the ‘right to serve’ the judges.
The best dressed category went to one of the management teams entered, the Drydock Mimes represented by Liezl Harris and Jennifer Mullins, also from The Drydock Food. Co, who silently won the title for the third year running.
A raffle prize of a Protea Hotel voucher to stay anywhere in South Africa, was won by Marten van Leeuwen, chairman of the Knysna Animal Welfare who auctioned off his ticket to Sheldon Meese, the general manager of the Knysna Waterfront.
A wine tasting was enjoyed during the race hosted by Protea Hotel Knysna Quays and Van Loveren Wine Estate. Event organiser, Anja Nel said: “The waitrons race combines all things fun for young and old and it’s a wonderful occasion to hold up and sustain one of our local charities, whilst promoting our local restaurants... and having loads of fun too!”
The Protea Hotel Knysna Quays thanks all the sponsors of the event. Money raised during the event will be donated to the Knysna Animal Welfare Society.
